Does this look familiar?

  • Frustration causes meltdowns.
  • Failure after failure breeds feelings of hopelessness.
  • A happy child becomes sullen, obstinate, or even aggressive when asked to do things that are hard for them but appear easy for their classmates.
  • Homework piles up unfinished because it takes too long, is too hard, or just seems pointless because it won't be passing anyway.

Living with a child with learning difficulties can feel like bailing out a sinking ship with an unending horizon of storms in front of you. Unlike adults who have the luxury of changing careers to fit their natural strengths, children must go to school for 12 years of theirs lives and learn to find success there whatever their natural strengths and weaknesses may be. Is it any wonder some get so frustrated? But life doesn’t have to be a constant struggle to stay afloat. Specialized one-on-one targeted academic therapy, study skills training, and generalized tutoring can make a difference for students with any number of learning difficulties and impairments. From students with simple “I just don’t get Algebra” to “ I’m fine until I get the test” to ADHD, language disabilities, processing disorders, Autism, or even learning gaps resulting from psychological causes like PTSD, they have all found learning success with one-on-one instruction at L3 tutoring. “Lessons in Learning and Literacy” (L3) was started in order to teach those students, and others like them, how to weather their academic trials while strengthening their learning weaknesses. We focus on learning “how to learn” in the subjects that plague them most. Most importantly we remind them that there is a very good reason to HOPE.

"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11
